Sudbury, ONT: The Newfoundland Rogues lost an afternoon road tilt against the Sudbury Five 131-125 on Saturday. This is the Rogues sixth straight road loss, falling to 6-14 on the BSL season and remaining seventh in the standings.
Both the Five and the Rogues came to play with a heavy offensive mindset as the buckets couldn’t stop pouring in. A high scoring and fast paced contest throughout the entire 48 minutes, the Five did just enough to get over the hump and secure their league leading 18th win of the season. The home side were led by stellar performances from Duane Notice (G), JD Miller (F) and Jermaine Haley (F). The Rogues saw another excellent offensive performance from David Jasson (G) while Jakorie Smith (F) tied Duane Notice for most points during the match with 34 a piece.
With this being the final road trip of the season, the Rogues are in do-or-die mode moving forward and will need every win available to keep themselves alive in the playoff picture. The Rogues play again on the road tomorrow afternoon against their bitter rivals; the London Lightning. Tip-Off at 3:30 NST.
