Jackals stuff Rogues in thriller

St. John’s, NL: The Rogues lost their fourth consecutive BSL game at home in a 105-100 loss to the Jamestown Jackals on Saturday night. This was the first meeting of the season between the two sides. With the win, the Jackals pick up their first road victory of the year while the Rogues fall to 6-8 against BSL opponents.

Both teams came out of the gate flying; knocking down three after three. After trading the lead many times throughout a tough contest, Jackals star guard Derrick Colter hit a demoralizing three-pointer with 15 seconds left to seal the deal. Rogues guard Dedric Boyd led the Rogues in scoring with 22 points while Derrick Colter led all scorers with 27 points. This result leaves the Rogues in sixth place picking up just one win in their last seven games.

The Rogues will have a chance for revenge when these two teams play at the Mary Brown’s Centre again on Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s game will be the last of the Rogues long home stand before the team heads out on a crucial February road trip. Tip-Off at 4PM.
