St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues suffered a 113-88 defeat against the Pontiac Pharaohs at the Mary Brown’s Centre on Sunday afternoon. This was the third matchup between the two Basketball Super League squads with the Pharaohs holding a 2-1 record over the Rogues this season.
The home side Rogues just couldn’t get anything to go their way during the highly-anticipated afternoon tilt. Although the Pharaohs were missing early BSL MVP candidate and leading scorer James Towns (G), The Pharaohs put in an impressive team performance led by Khalil Gracey’s (G/F) 37 points and 12 boards. Amir Yusuf (C) picked up his second double-double in as many games adding to his impressive numbers since joining the Rogues.
The Rogues will have plenty of time to regroup and prepare for their next set of games against the team that eliminated them from the BSL playoffs last season; The KW Titans. The two game series starts on January 31st at the Mary Brown’s Centre. Tip-Off at 7PM.
