Rogues complete sweep against Wranglers

St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues defeated the Glass City Wranglers 97-92 at the Mary Brown’s Centre on Saturday. This marks the third straight win for the home side who improved to 5-1 on the season.

The Wranglers held a narrow lead on the Rogues for the majority of the contest. Big shots from Tay Weaver (G) and Tarkus Ferguson (G) would help turn the tide for the home side shifting the momentum in the Rogues favour. A tie game with 30 seconds remaining; Rashad Smith (G) hit a clutch three pointer to secure a victory for the Rogues. Smith achieved his second double-double in as many nights leading all Rogues players in scoring with 17 points. Amanze Ngumezi (F/C) also recorded his first double-double of the season (14 points, 14 rebounds).

The Rogues return to action on December 13th when they start their series against the Sudbury Five at the Mary Brown’s Centre. Tip-off at 7:00PM.
