St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues returned to the Mary Brown’s Centre on Saturday picking up a 119-93 victory over the Rhode Island Kraken. With the win, the Rogues improve to a 7-2 record.
A back and forth contest through the opening two quarters, the home side took a commanding lead during the third frame and never looked back. This game saw the Rogues debut of Graddy Kanku who signed from Basketball Super League (BSL) rivals the KW Titans. It took Kanku little time to impress, shooting 7-10 from the field and scoring 16 points to go with five rebounds. Rashad Smith (G) led the Rogues in points with 22 while provincial ballers Steven Earles (Rogues) and Noel Moffatt (Kraken) picked up some minutes near the end of the game.
These two teams will battle it out once again at the Mary Brown’s Centre on Sunday at 4PM.
