St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues defeated the Tri-City Tide 119-92 on Saturday night. This was the Rogues fifth straight win and second in as many nights against the Tide.
It was Nissan Night at the Mary Brown’s Centre where one fan had the chance to shoot a halfcourt attempt for a car. The fan subsequently missed his shot. The two teams spent a decent chunk of the first quarter trading the lead before the Rogues started to pull away. A solid third quarter gave the Tide hope heading into the fourth but in the end the home side Rogues proved too strong. In terms of Rogues scoring, Tarkus Ferguson (F) led the way with 27 points while Dedric Boyd (G) picked up his first double-double in front of a Rogues crowd (23 pts, 11 reb).
The Rogues will have little time to celebrate as they are back on the court against the Tide on Sunday afternoon. 4:00PM Tip-Off.
