Rogues drop home series against Titans

St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues suffered a 107-88 defeat against the KW Titans at the Mary Brown’s Centre on Sunday afternoon. This was the second defeat for the Rogues in a back-to-back set of games against their bitter BSL rivals.

In a game where the Rogues just couldn’t seem to get anything going, the Titans got off to an early lead and never looked back. Titans star forward Jaquan Lightfoot led the way for the visiting side with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The Rogues were led in scoring by Zaahir Woody (F) and newcomer Jakorie Smith (F) with 17 points each.

With the loss, the Rogues drop to sixth place in the Basketball Super League. Coach Reece Gaines will have a week to prepare for a crucial home stand against fifth place Jamestown Jackals. Series starts on Saturday, February 8th at the Mary Brown’s Centre. Tip-Off at 7PM.
