Rogues drop second straight home against Lightning

St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues lost their second game in as many days against the London Lightning 100-90 on Saturday. The Rogues sit at an overall record of 8-4 while the Lightning improve to 7-4 in the Basketball Super League (BSL).

While Saturday’s game wasn’t as controversial as Friday’s, the action certainly lived up to the hype. The home team got off to a hot start at the Mary Brown’s Centre, dominating the opening frame before the Lightning rallied back to lead at half. Despite losing a couple of key players over the past few days, the Rogues fought hard but ultimately came up short, dropping their second straight game and losing back-to-back at home for the first time this season. Billy White (F) had an impressive performance for the Lightning with 30 points and 7 rebounds while the Rogues were led in points, assists, and rebounds by guard Tarkus Ferguson (27 pts, 11 reb, 5 ast).

The Rogues will have little time to recover as they are back at the Mary Brown’s Centre on January 11th to start their series against the Pontiac Pharaohs.
