Rogues end losing skid in rout over Kingz

St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues returned to the win column Thursday night with a resounding 151-78 win over the TBL’s Rochester Kingz. With the win, the Rogues improve to an overall record of 11-13 and remain unbeaten against TBL opposition.

It was announced Thursday morning that the beginning of the game would be delayed for approximately an hour due to travel issues for the Kingz. After landing, the Kingz were immediately shuttled from the airport to the Mary Brown’s Centre in time for tip-off. All the chaos led to a tired Kingz team getting absolutely demolished across four quarters by the stronger, well rested Rogues side. David Jasson (G) led all scorers in the game with 27 points while the Rogues also saw strong performances from Jakorie Smith (F), Dedric Boyd (G), and newcomers Anthony Lefeau (C) and Cameron Wilbon (F). Even local hero Steven Earles (F) chipped in with 7 points and 8 rebounds in front of his home crowd. The 73 point thumping sets the record as the largest win in Rogues franchise history

The Rogues continue their series against the Kingz with two more games in as many days. Tomorrow’s game at the Mary Brown’s Centre tips-off at 7:00PM.
