London, ONT: The Newfoundland Rogues dropped their St. Patrick’s Day clash against the London Lightning 125-108. With the win, the Lightning improve to 3-0 against the Rogues completing the season sweep. The Rogues now hold a 2024/25 road record of 1-8 after Monday night’s loss.
These two teams were originally slated for an afternoon tilt the day prior. However, some unfortunate weather in London in the days leading up to the contest left the court too condensated to play on. Rescheduled for St Patrick’s Day, the two sides kept up an even pace through the first two quarters before the Lightning slowly took control to close things out at home. The Lightning saw double-double performances from Billy White (F), Marcus Ottey (G) and Jaylon Tate (G) while Rogues guard Dedric Boyd led all scorers with 28 points.
The Rogues remain in do-or-die mode and will have a few days to strategize before heading towards the border to take on the Windsor Express. Friday, March 21st’s clash is scheduled for 8:30 NST Tip-Off.
