Rogues MBC return spoiled by Titans

St. John’s, NL: The Newfoundland Rogues came up short against the KW Titans, dropping the contest 119-107. With the win, the Titans leapfrog the London Lightning for third in the Basketball Super League standings while the Rogues remain in fifth.

Friday’s loss was the first time in 19 days that the Rogues took to the court. Although the coach and players may be different, the fans certainly didn’t forget it was the Titans who eliminated the Rogues from the 2024 BSL Playoffs. In a game which saw the debut of two new Rogues players (Jakorie Smith and Eric Boone), the two sides traded baskets all the way into the fourth quarter. A late run from the Titans would be enough to see it through with 2024 BSL Rookie of the Year Dee Barnes (G) leading all players in scoring with 24 points. Rogues center Amir Yusuf picked up yet another double-double in just his fifth game with the team (17pts, 10reb).

Rogues head coach Reece Gaines will hurry back to the drawing board as these two teams play each other again on Saturday night. Doors open 6:00PM, Tip-Off at 7:00PM.
