Toledo, OH: The Newfoundland Rogues rebounded from Saturday’s loss defeating the Glass City Wranglers 120-116. Tuesday’s result was the first road win of the season for the Rogues who improved to a 3-1 record.
Fans in Toledo, Ohio were treated to a thriller as the Wranglers got off to a hot start leading by as many as 20 points. The Rogues took control in the 2nd half before a flurry of late offense from the home side threatened Reece Gaines’ Rogues team. Dedric Boyd (G) led all Rogues scorers with 25 points and 11 rebounds to pick up his first double-double of the season. Rogues guards Rashad Smith and Tay Weaver also put in strong performances with 23 and 19 points respectively.
This was the first meeting between Newfoundland and Basketball Super League newcomers Glass City. They will match up against each other again when the Newfoundland Rogues return to the Mary Brown’s Centre on December 6th.
