Rogues Capitalize Versus Salem, Kick Off Series with Win

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Rogues made it back to the win column on Wednesday, defeating the Salem Capitals by a final score of 144-137 in the first game of a three game series. It was a high scoring affair with both teams putting plenty of points on the board.
Jacorie Archie led the charge for the Rogues. He had 27 points and 13 rebounds while shooting a sizzling 9/11 from three point range. Armani Chaney was even stronger statistically with 33 points and 17 assists. New Rogue DeAndre McIntyre chipped in with 22 points in his first game.
Salem was led by Joseph Billinger Jr, who poured in 41 points.
The Rogues are back in action against the Capitals tonight and tomorrow night at the Mary Brown’s Centre.
News and Notes
Ron Artest III and Tyrone Young were helped off the floor on consecutive plays during Wednesday night’s game with lower body injuries. Both remain game time decisions for Friday night.
The first 500 fans to Friday night’s game will receive $10 vouchers for the Rec Room. Saturday night is Multicultural Night, fans who bring a flag to the game and receive a free Rogues bandana.
