St. John’s, NL – The Newfoundland Rogues fell to the Tri-City Tide 112-106 on Saturday night at the Mary Brown’s Centre. This win sees the Tide improve to 11-1 in The Basketball League’s Atlantic Division, head and shoulders above the rest of the division including the second placed Rogues who fall to 7-6 after the loss. After a cagey first half of action where both teams traded leads, the Rogues went on a big run to lead over the Tide at half. As is customary for this Tide team, they came back hard in the third to regain the lead and did not lose it for the rest of the match despite close efforts from the home side. The Rogues were led in scoring by Dedric Boyd’s 29 points while the Tide were led by strong performances from CJ Jamison (30 points, 8 rebounds) and Jordan Robinson (28 points, 16 rebounds). The Rogues will look to turn their fortunes around tomorrow afternoon when these two teams meet again at the Mary Brown’s Centre.
