Rogues Go Cold, Drop Opener to Patroons
For Immediate Release
ST. JOHN’S, NL – Coming off a bruising, low scoring series against the Atlantic City Gambits, the Albany Patroons wanted to slow down the high-scoring Rogues. And that’s just what they did. With a deep bench of tall, physical players, the Patroons threw wave after wave of defenders at the Rogues guards, forcing turnovers and bad shots. At the end of the night, the Patroons had cruised to a 134-108 victory.
The Rogues were again led by the one-two punch of Armani Chaney and Marquise Collins. Chaney scored 37 to go with 8 assists, while Collins scored 29.
The Patroons had a well-balanced attack that featured 7 players in double figures. Edward Dyson III led the way with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Albany out-rebounded Newfoundland 66-41.
