Rogues keep playoff hopes alive vs Lightning

St. John’s, NL: The stakes were high when the Newfoundland Rogues hosted the London Lightning on Friday. If the Rogues are going to qualify for the BSL postseason, they’ll need to beat the Lightning in two of three consecutive contests at the Mary Brown’s Centre so, this was a pivotal 110-104 win.

The odds were also against the Rogues. With Marquis Collins playing limited minutes due to an injury, the Rogues were undermanned against a star studded Lightening team. With 38 points, Armani Chaney carried the day.

Give the Lightning credit for fighting. Billy White had 26 points to lead the team. This one was back and forth all night, but in the end, the Rogues prevailed.

They’ll have to do it again on Saturday – and if they can’t, Sunday’s contest will be a must-win.
