Rogues Rally To Overtime, Tundra Transcend To Victory

St. John’s, NL: It was an eventful evening at the Mary Browns Center on Saturday as the Newfoundland Rogues lost to the Montreal Tundra by a final score of 123-117.

That was a rare occurrence for the Rogues, prior to this contest, the Rogues were 11-1 at home. This game snapped a BSL best 9-game winning streak.

You can’t say the Rogues didn’t try – this one went to overtime. In the end, the Rogues couldn’t overcome strong performances from Mambi Diawara (17 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists) and Antoine Mason (32 points, 5 rebounds).

The Rogues were without Marquise Collins, their second leading scorer, for most of this game. He was ejected after just 6 minutes of action. A triple double from Armani Chaney (33 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds) wasn’t enough to make up for his absence.

The Tundra tied the season series with this win. We’ll see who emerges victorious in the rubber match at the Mary Browns Center on Sunday.
