St. John’s, NL – The Newfoundland Rogues defeated the Tri-State Admirals 123-107 on Sunday at the Mary Brown’s Centre. This win sees the Rogues finish their season with a record of 16-10, good for second place in The Basketball League’s Atlantic Canadian Division.
It was a similar script to the previous meeting between the two sides less than 24 hours before as while the Rogues controlled the game, the Admirals refused to go down without a fight. The Rogues were led in scoring by TBL All-Star Dedric Boyd’s 25 points while player of the game honours went to Anthony Lefeau and his 18 point, 14 rebound showing. It was an emotional night for Rogues veterans Kevin Bridgewaters and Steven Earles as they both head into retirement from the professional game.
Tony Kenny’s Newfoundland Rogues will go into the off-season riding high as the longest-lasting locally owned and operated professional sports franchise in the province’s history.
