St. John’s, NL – The Newfoundland Rogues fell to the Tri-City Tide 97-93 at the Mary Brown’s Centre on Sunday evening. The win sees the Tide rise to an impressive 8-0 to start the season while the Rogues fall to 3rd in The Basketball League’s Atlantic Canada Division with a 4-5 record.
The Tide controlled the game during the 1st frame before a Dedric Boyd-inspired Rogues run had the home side leading by two at halftime. Trading leads coming out of the break, the Tide eventually proved too strong, capsizing the Rogues in the 4th quarter with a key run down the stretch. It was a complete team effort for a deep Tide squad with six different double-digit scorers while the Rogues were once again led by star guard Dedric Boyd and his 36 point effort.
The Rogues won’t have to wait long to get another chance to end Tri-City’s unbeaten run as these two teams play again on Monday, March 23rd.
